Something exploded in my backyard. I think it was Spring. I took these photos today with my new camera- a Nikon D40. I hope to be bringing you MUCH better photos here at Good to be Home in the very near future.

How often (yearly?), and for how long, does your orchid bloom? I am wondering because I have always tried to have them and, well, truth be known... I have a history of being an orchid killer. This was years ago. So, in early December I took a chance and got a new one. Gorgeous. He has been in full bloom since I got him, he just started dropping his petals a few weeks ago. I am really trying to keep him alive. I water him about once a week and give him orchid food. I don't know if I can re-pot him after he drops his petals or not.
Keep the photos coming.. they are awesome!
